Hi to all,
I'm working on a project to monitor 3 or 4 greenhouses. It requires monitoring 4 or 5 parameters at 2 or 3 points in each greenhouse. So in total I could have about 60-80 variables to manage. I may also need to monitor power devices, pumps, motors, and status conditions for windows, doors, and flows. I'm considering setting up a Modbus network with RS485 sensors. My question is: what are the limitations of using a CR310 compared to a CR1000Xe? Given the CR1000X's superior hardware features, is there any other reason why the CR310 should definitely be discarded? With the CR310, I could use a 4G router on the Ethernet port, a LORA radio on the RS232 port to query the RS485 sensors, which also have LORA radio. I could manage power circuits and detect status conditions with the channels and ports on the logger itself. I can use the cloud and send FTP data. I've been using CS loggers for decades and have solved many complicated situations, but at first glance, this seems like too big a project for a basic logger like the CR310, but I see no reason not to do it. I'll also give the customer the option of choosing the CR1000Xe for future developments, thanks to the many interfaces available, but not suitable for the CR310. Do you have any suggestions for or against it? Thanks.
Regards
Smile
